On Sunday, June 6, we saw a red-headed woodpecker on 13th St, south of the Otsego Meijers store. It flew from the road shoulder up to a power pole. Apparently the Thornapple River flood plain is not the only place to find them.

The swans in Holes bayou hatched 6 cygnets again this year. At last sighting there were still 4 chicks. Presumably the turtles eat the little ones.
